Testify(ing) About Alan Doyle

The house erupted when Alan Doyle came on stage last weekend and filled us in on his plans for the evening.  After he had thanked everyone for including his show in their Friday night party schedule he informed us that he was doing a DOUBLE SET!!!

One side of the brain (the one that loves music) is thinking OMG I couldn't be any luckier. The other side (the one that knows I am there to "work") is saying OK.  Let's really listen and see if he can pull this off. 

I can Testify to the fact that he more than pulled it off.  Musicians half his age would have had a hard time pulling off a double set.  Some can barely make it through a single.  

By no means, am I the only one that felt that way.  After two one hour sets EVERYONE in the audience stayed behind for the encore.  I have been to hundreds of concerts.  I have NEVER seen such an enthusiastic performance and enthralled audience. I think everyone in the Danforth Music Hall last Friday night felt the same way - "I've Seen A Little but it ain't enough."
