15 March 2019 (Toronto, ON) – Following nearly a year in the studio, singer-songwriter and JUNO Award nominee for Breakthrough Artist of the Year Johnny Orlando releases his highly anticipated debut EP Teenage Fever today via Universal Music Canada/Island Records.
Emanating confidence and charisma over danceable electronic grooves and a subtle hip-hop bounce, Orlando levels up his take on pop. Once again co-writing with his sister Darian (a tradition dating back to the viral video that launched him to stardom in 2011), and a range of acclaimed collaborators including Mike Wise (bülow, Dvbbs, RALPH), Linnea Södahl (Zara Larsson, Anne-Marie), Nick Ruth (Ryan Tedder), Jordon Manswell (Daniel Caesar) and Matthew Burnett (Jessie Reyez, Daniel Caesar), Orlando gets personal this time around. With his debut EP, Orlando’s lyrical honesty is elevated by impressive vocals and unshakable hooks. “Every song is a reflection of how I’m actually feeling,” says Johnny. “Teenage Fever kind of looks inside my head and shares a sound that’s more authentic than it has ever been. The songs are about experiences I’ve had – things I think all teenagers can relate to – especially while trying to navigate the high school years.” “This is the first time I’ve really taken creative control from start to finish,” he adds. “I worked with so many cool people with different backgrounds and from different places. That gives the EP a lot of character - every song is unique. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to share this new music with my fans and can’t wait to perform it for everyone live!” You can listen to Teenage Fever here. Speaking of live performances Johnny Orlando will be at the Danforth Music Hall May 2, 2019. You can purchase your tickets here .
