Betrayal (A Poem)

There could never be a romantic trip for us
by plane, train, limousine or bus
Because you took a trip to a Niagara Falls hotel room
with someone who would be better suited to riding a broom

No explanation sits comfortably with me
If the tables were turned how pissed would you be
You can reduce, reuse and recycle a lot of things
But not the heart break and head ache that remembering brings

You were suppose to be at your dads cabin
Instead you treated us like a comedy ... a laugh in.
You weren't even honest about it ... you wouldn't reveal
It took me six months but I figured out the real deal

Thank you for being diligent about keeping the receipt
Otherwise I would still be oblivious to the depth of deceit
I am grateful to be able to resign from the position
I prefer a life without your betrayal and my superstition.

There are people in my life that need me more than you
I have done everything I could I have paid my due
I hope you are ready for what your future will hold
The pain and agony you have caused me will be returned ten-fold

I hope you are happy with the investment you have made
cuz Karma's a bitch when she wants to be repaid
You suffer from a poverty of mind body and soul
You really need to find a way to get your life under control
