That single note turbo charged his career.  His Cars single raced to the top of the charts in the UK and Canada.       

Throughout the documentary you learn that his music is the chassis that protects his creative self.  His career is the engine that drives his family to America in search of greater opportunities.  His family members are the gas pedals that provide the momentum to move forward.  The social anxiety and depression are the gauges that he is constantly monitoring.
