CMI's Artist Manager Bootcamp

CANADA’S MUSIC INCUBATOR’S ARTIST MANAGER BOOTCAMP 

FREE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND MENTORSHIP FOR ARTIST MANAGERS, SELF-MANAGED ARTISTS AND TRANSITIONING MUSIC INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS

Toronto (March 18, 2016) Canada’s Music Incubator is partnering with municipalities, music industry associations, the Ontario Media Development Corporation and Coalition Music in Ottawa (April 9 &10), Hamilton (April 23 & 24), London (May 14 & 15), Sudbury (June 11 & 12) and Windsor (June 25 & 26) to host the Artist Manager Bootcamp.

Each bootcamp will be FREE and run Saturday (9am-6pm) and Sunday (9am-3pm) with the objective of providing customized, hands-on and high-level mentorship to a maximum of 15 pre-selected artist managers, self-managed artists or transitioning industry professionals.

“CMI is excited to share our cumulative expertise and experience with communities and individuals across the province,” says Vel Omazic, Executive Director, Canada’s Music Incubator. In addition to helping these cities build the capacity to better serve and retain their respective artist communities, we will also be providing ongoing connectivity to our organization and the music industry at large.

Bootcamp activities and topics will include: One-On-One Mentorship, Running Your Business, Pitching, Negotiating, Networking, Touring, Marketing, Funding, Team Building, Publicity, Contracts and more.

Interested participants must meet at least one of the following requirements to be eligible for the bootcamp:
1.            You are an active artist manager from any genre of music working with at least one client
2.            You are a self-managed artist
3.            You are an artist that manages another artist or artists
4.            You are an active or previous music industry professionals with experience as tour manager, production manager, concert promoter, booking agent, marketing/brand manager, A&R representative, producer, broadcaster, or music retailer transitioning to artist management.

To be considered all interested artist managers, self-managed artists or transitioning industry professionals must complete and submit an application for the Artist Manager Bootcamp they wish to attend. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Successful applicants will be notified no later than one week prior to the bootcamp.
