Have you ever wanted to just chill out with some good tunage? Spend a couple hours relaxing with an intimate group of people that are also there just to listen. Concert going seems to have turned into an aggressive Olympic style sport fueled by a combination of drugs, and alcohol. Thankfully, on February 20th, 2019, Martin Kerr created a calm listening environment at the Burdock in Toronto.
Martin Kerr's single "You're Amazing" was what drew me to his music. At one point during his show he asks you to look deep into the eyes of the person beside you and sing the chorus. May I suggest that everyone take a moment every day to look in the mirror and sing the chorus to themselves? You can never go wrong with some free music therapy. His storytelling between songs (youthful follies of dating as a ginger, stories about his wife [which included a new verse for the Magnetic Fields Book of Love], Mr Liao [heartbreaking], selling out the Winspear Centre in Edmonton [with an upcoming performance date with Edmonton Symphony Orchestra], and many others) reminded me of why the spotlight shines on center stage.
