TORONTO, September 20, 2018 - “As I evolve, I realize, you can have a vision, but sometimes you have to have a re-vision” explains Maestro Fresh Wes in his TED talk, released on YouTube and filmed in Vancouver, Canada in 2017. “A lot of people have ideas, and they stay in their little box. I decided to keep on moving.[...] Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t accomplish what you want to do. Revise yourself.” The Canadian rapper and JUNO award-winner first came into prominence in 1989 upon the release of his first album Symphony in Effect and the launch of his smash hit Let Your Backbone Slide. He is the first Canadian to have a record certified platinum and is credited as the ‘godfather of Canadian hip-hop.” Since then, he has been relentless in his life, releasing music, becoming an author, an actor and a keynote speaker.
This October he joins Classified’s live tour across Canada for 26 shows. Maestro Fresh Wes will be in Toronto at the Opera House with Classified on November 16th, 2016. Additional tour and ticket information available here.

I definitely appreciate the fact that they continue to reinforce the notion that this is a family friendly event. There was a hand printed sign facing the stage that clearly stated anyone using foul language would have their mic cut off immediately. Just in case they needed the reminder. It's sad though really that some of these artists don't practice a clean version of their songs. In the last couple of years it seems that the majority of the times the sound guys cut the microphone I was completely vibing with what the performers were trying to say. Leaving me shaking my head when everything goes strangely silent as I struggle to re-enter my own mind front and center at YDSquare For the record artists that perform on their stage this year are getting the message. From what I recall, only one performance was cut short. (Photos were original published to my Instagram .)
