Thanks to the Toronto Public Library and their free Museum & Arts Passes I visited the Aga Khan Museum on August, 26th, 2016 with my spare mom. It was so intriguing to watch her reaction to the creative video production that is on display as soon as we walked into the main gallery. It took a full five minutes before she could tear herself away.
I was disappointed that I couldn't take pictures of the Marvellous Creatures: Animals In Islamic Art Exhibit. Some of the animals depicted in glass, ceramics, textiles and jewelry were real. Others were of the mythical variety like the pegasus, and the dragon. Why take my word for it? Go see for yourself.

(Toronto, ON) – The innovative and genre-bending hip-hop artist, SonReal, has gone gold with his infectious hit “Can I Get A Witness”, the first single from his newest outing The Name EP, which was released earlier this month via Black Box Recordings/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. “Can I Get A Witness” is a chart-climbing success, finding a home in radio’s top 20, and already garnering over 3.8 million streams on Spotify. The epic video for the track (watch HERE), features cameos of popular characters from previous SonReal videos and was directed by Peter Huang, and produced by Jordan Barber – both of whom are long term friends and collaborators of SonReal. To date the video has over 1.4 million views. Produced by Redone and Rush, “Can I Get A Witness” has proven to be one of Son’s most prolific songs to date. Now, he’s taking the tunes on the road for a headlining tour across Canada with direct support stops in the United States as well. She is the rep for my community
Living in a unit on a financial subsidy With her 30 year long time bed buddy While he works full time at security And she collects ODSP - Disability Maybe that's none of my business ... But I can't help but think that TCHC and ODSP should revoke her immunity She is in charge of the Christmas hamper The original shipping list she does tamper She doles the food out to those she can pamper Then off they scurry and off they scamper Even the super leaves a happy camper. Maybe that's none of my business ... But I can't help but think that There should be an independent rubber stamper She lied when she filed a report with a cop She claimed to be missing HER laptop After someone had made her door lock go "Pop!" In fact, the stolen comp belonged to her fop Lying is her lifestyle .. She'll never stop. Maybe that's none of my business ... But I can't help but think that With fables as good as her's she could be Aesop She declared personal bankruptcy last year For our community finances I do fear The lack of accountability makes everything unclear After pulling out my hair and shedding many a tear I can't make the account books magically appear Maybe that's none of my business ... But I can't help but think that This situation needs an unapologetic mutineer She only recycles the gossip and lies Her environmental footprint she vehemently denies Throwing out scraps of truth in bags with twist ties Oblivious to the approaching cloud as time flies She may be an old woman but she is far from wise Maybe that's none of my business ... But I can't help but think that Karma is anxiously awaiting her downfall ... her demise by Cheryl Duggan August 17th, 2016 |
